ABOUT

ALEX BEVACQUA

I grew up in Wheaton, Maryland, and my primary interest as an adolescent was music, although I also played recreational sports. As a young adult, after determining that the musician's life was not for me, I did some soul-searching and discovered the magic of anatomy, psychology and exercise. I changed paths and started pursuing physical therapy. I have been practicing since 2015 and have worked with all sorts of patients with various musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions. I love interacting with patients, getting to know them and their families, and going on a journey with them to overcome their obstacles and get moving more independently and safely, and with less pain (or at least a better understanding of their pain). When not "PT-ing", I love going on adventures with my lovely wife Larissa!
EDUCATION
-
Bachelor of Kinesiology- University of Maryland College Park
Kinesiology is the science of movement. I spent 4 years studying how the human body grows, develops, functions, and heals when something goes wrong.
-
Doctor of Physical Therapy- University of Maryland Baltimore
I earned my doctorate degree in the science (although it's also very much an art) of physical therapy. There were two years of rigorous coursework and a full year of internships in different settings. I emerged a well-rounded clinician.
